Škoda Auto India has unveiled the updated 2026 Slavia facelift, bringing a refreshed exterior design, several new premium features and an important mechanical upgrade to its popular midsize sedan. While the overall silhouette and core platform remain familiar, Škoda has made enough changes to make the new Slavia feel significantly more modern.
The biggest highlight is the introduction of a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The facelift also brings a segment-first rear-seat massage function, a larger digital driver’s display and a new 360-degree camera system. Pre-bookings are already open, while prices are expected to be announced in October, with deliveries scheduled to begin during the festive season.
Refreshed Exterior Design
The 2026 Slavia retains the same basic body shell and proportions as the outgoing model, but Škoda has redesigned several exterior elements to give the sedan a fresher appearance.
At the front, the Slavia gets a revised grille with updated detailing, a redesigned bumper and new lighting signatures. The LED daytime running lights now feature a segmented design, giving the sedan a more contemporary appearance. The lighting elements also receive updated detailing, while the rear gets revised tail-lamp graphics and sequential turn indicators.
The sedan continues with its relatively high 179mm ground clearance, which remains one of its practical advantages for Indian roads. It also gets newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels.
At the rear, the tail-lamp internals have been updated and the boot area receives revised Škoda lettering and trim detailing, helping distinguish the facelift from the previous model.
The overall design remains recognisably Slavia, but the changes give the sedan a sharper and more premium appearance.
Major Interior and Feature Upgrades
The biggest transformation happens inside the cabin.
One of the most notable additions is the rear-seat massage function, making the Slavia the first car in its segment to offer this feature. The system has been carried over from the recently updated Kushaq and is particularly relevant for buyers who regularly use the car with rear passengers or chauffeurs.
The driver’s instrument display has also been upgraded. The new Slavia gets a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, replacing the smaller display of the outgoing model. It offers improved graphics and can display navigation information directly within the driver’s view.
The infotainment system has also received a software overhaul, with a redesigned interface and improved connectivity. Škoda’s official information confirms that the new system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while selected versions also receive an AI assistant powered by Google Cloud.
Another major addition is the 360-degree Area View camera. Instead of relying only on a conventional rear camera, the system provides a view around the vehicle, making parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces considerably easier. Front parking sensors and Park Pilot further improve low-speed usability.
The updated Slavia also benefits from an improved air-conditioning system with a variable-displacement compressor, aimed at delivering stronger and more efficient cooling.
Other highlights include electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, six airbags as standard and a single-pane electric sunroof on applicable variants. The sedan continues to offer a spacious 521-litre boot, along with a spare wheel and under-floor storage.
New 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox
The most important mechanical change on the facelift is the introduction of a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
The 1.0-litre TSI continues to produce 115hp, but its automatic version now uses an 8-speed torque-converter gearbox instead of the previous 6-speed automatic. The new transmission is expected to offer smoother shifts and improved efficiency while making the Slavia more convenient for daily city driving.
The 1.0 TSI continues to be available with a 6-speed manual transmission as well.
The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI continues to produce 150hp and is now offered exclusively with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Škoda has dropped the manual option for the 1.5 TSI, following relatively weak demand for that combination on the outgoing model.
The 1.5 TSI versions also receive rear disc brakes, further improving braking hardware on the performance-oriented variants.
Monte Carlo Edition Continues
The sporty Monte Carlo version remains part of the Slavia lineup and brings a more aggressive visual treatment.
The variant gets blacked-out exterior elements, sporty alloy wheels, red accents and red brake calipers. A sporty front treatment and rear spoiler further differentiate it from the standard versions.
Inside, the Monte Carlo follows a darker theme with an all-black cabin, red detailing and contrasting stitching. The result is a more youthful and performance-oriented interpretation of the Slavia.
Škoda has confirmed that the Monte Carlo trim will be available with the new Slavia from launch.
Safety Remains a Major Strength
Safety continues to be one of the Slavia’s biggest selling points.
The sedan retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating and comes with six airbags. The facelift adds the 360-degree Area View camera and front parking sensors, further improving visibility and manoeuvring assistance.
However, the new Slavia does not introduce an ADAS package. The focus remains on passive safety, parking assistance and conventional electronic safety systems rather than Level 1 or Level 2 driver assistance.
When Will the New Slavia Be Priced?
Škoda has already opened pre-bookings for the updated Slavia. The company is expected to announce the final prices in October 2026, with deliveries planned for the festive season.
The facelift will continue to compete with the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus in India’s midsize sedan segment.
2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift: What Has Changed?
The facelift doesn’t completely reinvent the Slavia. Instead, Škoda has focused on the areas that matter most to modern buyers: technology, comfort, convenience and automatic transmission choices.
The rear-seat massage function gives the sedan a premium advantage, while the 360-degree camera addresses one of the major feature gaps of the previous model. The larger digital cockpit and updated infotainment system also bring the cabin closer to the technology standards of newer SUVs.
But the biggest change is arguably the 8-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0 TSI. It gives buyers a more sophisticated automatic option without forcing them to step up to the more expensive 1.5 TSI DSG.
With refreshed styling, improved equipment, proven turbo-petrol engines and a new automatic transmission, the 2026 Slavia facelift is essentially Škoda’s attempt to make the sedan more appealing in a market increasingly dominated by SUVs. If Škoda manages to keep pricing competitive, the updated Slavia could become an even stronger alternative to the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Virtus.
