Mahindra has given its electric SUV lineup a significant update with the newly rebranded B6 Sport, formerly known simply as the B6. The electric SUV continues with its futuristic and aggressive exterior design, but the latest version brings important changes to the cabin, battery options and special-edition variants.
The B6 Sport is available in five variants and offers customers three different battery pack choices. Mahindra has also introduced a special Formula E Freedom Edition, giving buyers a more performance-focused alternative with exclusive styling and a completely different interior theme.

One of the most noticeable versions of the new B6 Sport is the Launch Edition.
It features a stealthy satin black exterior finish, giving the SUV an even more aggressive appearance. The dark exterior is complemented by a tan-coloured interior, which gives the cabin a warmer and more premium appearance compared with the darker interiors usually associated with sporty electric SUVs.
Despite retaining the B6 Sport’s radical exterior design, Mahindra has made substantial changes inside the cabin.
New Triple-Screen Dashboard
The biggest interior change is the introduction of a three-screen dashboard layout.
The driver gets a dedicated digital display, while the centre screen handles the main infotainment functions. The front passenger now gets a separate screen of their own, allowing them to access entertainment features such as movies and games.
This gives the B6 Sport a more modern, technology-focused cabin and helps differentiate it from the previous interior configuration.
Halo Loop Removed for Better Practicality
Another significant change is the removal of the central Halo Loop.
The Halo Loop previously helped create a distinctive cockpit-like environment around the occupants. However, its removal makes the new cabin more open and practical.
With the divider gone, occupants have easier access to important everyday features such as the wireless charging area and USB ports. Mahindra has also added a new cup holder for the front passenger.
While some enthusiasts may prefer the enclosed cockpit feeling of the earlier design, the revised layout should make the B6 Sport more convenient for everyday use.
Personalised Dashboard Display
Mahindra has also added an interesting software feature that allows owners to display personalised text on the dashboard screen.
It is a small feature, but it adds another layer of customisation to the futuristic cabin and gives owners the ability to personalise the vehicle’s digital interface.
Formula E Freedom Edition Brings a Sportier Character
For buyers looking for something more aggressive, Mahindra has introduced the Formula E Freedom Edition.
Unlike the Launch Edition’s understated satin-black appearance, the Freedom Edition gets a striking red satin exterior finish.
The special edition also features:

- Formula E badging
- Tricolour-themed exterior graphics
- C-shaped DRLs
- Exclusive sporty detailing
The Freedom Edition is available exclusively with the 79kWh battery pack, making it the range-topping configuration in this special edition.
A Completely Different Interior
The Formula E Freedom Edition follows a completely different design philosophy inside.
Instead of the Launch Edition’s tan interior, it gets a black-and-red cabin with Alcantara-like materials and forged carbon-fibre-style detailing.
The carbon-fibre-inspired treatment extends across areas such as the doors, pillars and Halo Loop, giving the cabin a much more motorsport-inspired character.
Halo Loop Returns
Interestingly, Mahindra has taken the opposite approach with the Formula E Freedom Edition.
While the Launch Edition removes the Halo Loop, the Freedom Edition retains it.
The special edition also keeps the older twin-screen dashboard layout, creating a more driver-focused cockpit rather than the open, passenger-friendly layout of the Launch Edition.
This makes the two versions feel substantially different despite being based on the same B6 Sport.
Motorsport-Inspired Steering Wheel
The Freedom Edition also receives a special steering wheel designed around its Formula E-inspired character.
It features a red 12-o’clock marker, red detailing and dedicated controls for functions such as boost and regenerative braking.
Together with the darker cabin, carbon-fibre-style elements and Halo Loop, these additions give the Freedom Edition a much more focused and sporty atmosphere.
